Lemon Drizzle Day

I was volunteering today. The main task was to prepare potted plants - shrubs, flowers, herbs and vegetables - for the first plant sale of the year this coming Easter weekend. A marquee has been erected and inside are wooden tables and shelves on which the plants will be displayed. We made good progress and so there will be plenty of good plants for sale this coming Thursday and Saturday. Part way through we stopped for tea and cake - this week’s cake being lemon drizzle made by one of the other volunteers in the group.

We had some rain overnight which was most welcome as we’ve had very little rain this spring. The day has been damp and overcast with short sunny intervals which felt beautifully warm.
