Hilltop Horses

It was very breezy but pleasant as I went for what is becoming my usual Sunday walk. There are lots of horses in the fields around the area, and these were close to the top of the hill that divides the Loxley and Upper Don Valleys although I think the fine views were lost on them. I saw swallows, house martins and a solitary swift. Plenty of signs that late summer is upon us - rowan berries ripening, heather starting to bloom, and the first Penny Bun found in the woodland. it wasn't as pretty as yesterday's bun blip, as something had beaten me to it, but it was very fresh, so I salvaged some of what remained to make a nice mushroom sauce for tea.
