Loofah
My friend Tobi, the brilliant Master Gardener grows all kinds of things in her garden but this is one of the most interesting. Last year she grew loofa sponge plants, a unique kind of gourd, cut them, beached them, dried them and gave me one for Christmas. I keep it in the shower, and it is the perfect texture for a bracing rubdown. I stood it up in a glass so I could catch all its intertwined fibers. I thought they showed up better in mono.
It's been a mono sort of day. The temperatures have dropped almost 30 degrees from yesterday and there hasn't been a sign of the sun all day. It's not supposed to rain but it is definitely gloomy made a bit gloomier by the fact that Matt has gone on to his golf gig at Pebble Beach. It's some kind of client appreciation event but he feels bad about going to play golf leaving everybody else to struggle with responses to the tariff games. The disregard for the very survival of the people who voted for the perpetrator is stunning.
I think either tonight or tomorrow I will finally finish the four year sweater. It's been picked up and put down so many times, I'm surprised it isn't worn out but it's coming together quite well and I'm so close to finishing it that I'm motivated!
I'm also really tired and uninspired so hoping for a better night's sleep tonight.
