Life Thru A Lens

A full day in Chester with Mrs C today, though most of it spent apart. I had a lot of “admin-y” things to do as regards mum and she wanted to look at a camera lens she had spotted that was for sale in Wilkinsons.
She had been after this particular lens for some time, but the sticking point was the cost. A new Sony lens was out of the question. A new Sigma lens was within the price range but….well, it wasn’t a Sony, was it. I get where she’s coming from - in the guitar world it would be “Fender” original or “Vintage” really good copy. And I speak as someone who has owned several examples of both those brands.
What she had spotted, however, was the Holy Grail of these sort of quests - an “as new” Sony for the price of a Sigma. A bit like when I bought a pre-owned Fender Custom Shop Strat for less than the cost of a new Fender American Strat.
There was only one teensy fly in the ointment. She hadn’t yet received payment for the stuff she was selling to fund this new purchase. But we were only in Chester for the day, and it was the sort of thing that wouldn’t be there next week. And I didn’t fancy driving down to Chester again anyway. So, it was paid for on my credit card.
Which means I am technically the owner of this new lens, until such time as Mrs C receives her funds. However, as I don’t have anything to attach it to, I suppose I could let Mrs C use it…

P.S. those wondering why there are guitar references in this blip should be aware that I am considering a new purchase. Best to lay down a couple of markers beforehand…

P.P.S I did also go and look at motorbikes today. But didn’t find anything that I thought was worth trading my Triumph for. That’s surely got to be brownie points towards possible guitar purchases?
