This is not my house
…or even the house of my dreams! We had fun doing the jigsaw, though. The elegantly furnished house is surrounded by vineyards. Perhaps our holiday cottage in Dorset will be similar….
I had not long been home from work, just enough time to eat a piece of toast, when there was a knock at the door. I was surprised to see my work colleague there, until she reminded me that all three of us in the team were going to the theatre! I had suggested it last week, as a premature farewell to A, who is retiring at the end of May.
The play, at the BarnTheatre in Cirencester, was In the Mouth of the Wolf, the world premiere based on the novel by Sir Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Simon Reade. It is the true story of Sir Michael’s uncles, and I won’t say too much about it in case you decide to go and see it too. Let’s say it was bare-bones minimalist theatre at its finest, both minimalist and moving.
By the time got home, I was too tired to do anything except finish the jigsaw. I’d had a fabulous night out, and on a Monday, too!
