Not weeds

I've had a busy day.

For the last few days when I walk the dog I pass this house and a young woman has been sitting outside the front door doing something - at first I thought she was removing the weeds that grow at the foot of the house against the street but to day when I walked past today I could see what she had been doing - so I took a picture. As you can see she has been putting mosaic tiles on the face of the steps to her house. After I took this I did see her apply grout so it's now more complete than what you see here.

The dog had a walk and then when I got home I spent two hours working for a client - it was easier to do it on a Saturday than work late on a weekday. It was tedious and slow to do, but changing a running system is risky so I did everything slowly and took screen shots and documented everything. After I'd completed the change someone tested it for me. so we're as good as we can be.

After lunch I then spent the afternoon battling with the Synology DS312J NAS for the IT club. I've basically proved that if you try to connect to it using NFS which is the native network file format of Unix systems like Linux or macOS it falls over in a heap and is basically bricked. I then spent most of the rest of the day trying and failing to recover the situation.

As this is a back blip I can confirm that I fixed the Synology, but I'm not best pleased with it.

After battling most of the afternoon with the Synology I gave up and took the dog for another walk - which we enjoyed, and then crashed out in front of the TV with pizza!
