A marked improvement
There’s nothing like a deadline to focus one’s mind on what needs doing.
Smithers and I have finally plucked up the courage to book some train tickets to take us to our beloved Langdale at the end of the month for a two week stay. We both have mixed feelings about going, but are sure that we’ll be glad we’ve done it, once we’re there. The Traveller will once again be driving our car up, laden with all our stuff, bless him, and may stay up there with us for a bit.
Given that I now know I’m going away, and I haven’t made any cards for some weeks, and my area of the card stand in the Atrium café is looking decidedly bare, it behoved me to get a move on today. So I’ve been in mass production mode because I don’t have the time to fiddle about with too much die cutting and so forth, but I’m pleased with progress so far.
I’m also delighted to say that when we went to see the new osteopath this morning after Smithers had been working on the exercises he’d given him a week ago, there was a marked improvement in Smithers’ posture. The chap gave us a helpful explanation about how the brain has to cope with the new situation (poor eyesight), causing him to look down to prevent falls. This in turn causes the brain to opt for this as his new default posture, which needs correcting via the exercises. Even in the space of a week the osteopath could see a difference and we felt mightily encouraged. The pain is still there, but hopefully we can gradually reduce that too, given time.
