Wild rose

Beware the blipper who blithely names a plant, possibly erroneously as it turns out. (That’s me, folks.)

I blipped this bush in April 2023 and called it a potentilla. Only one blipper (thank you, MsQuizzical!) gently remarked that she was unfamiliar with this particular potentilla, but everyone else took me at my word. 

Despite feeling utterly worn out again today, such that my eyes are virtually glazed over, I somehow managed to ascertain that this lovely bush in our front garden which I so enjoy when it comes into bloom is actually a Rosa Xanthina 'Canary Bird' (wild rose). 

So now you know.
