Apple blossom buds

This is a photo of my lovely apple tree. Last year, it gave me just one rosy red apple.
Now, hundreds of delicate pink buds are clustered along its gnarled branches, each one cradled in soft green.
Around them, the tree hums with ancient rhythms in the quiet sunlight...
and spring holds its breath, listening...
