Merino and Silk

I spun some merino silk I had from awhile back and also spun a bunch of silk hankies. I plied them and got 148 metres of this. It's beautifully soft so now have to work out what to do with it.

I also have some merino silk which I am going to ply with black thread (thanks Karen) and may be able to knit the "body" of a shawl with one skein and the lacey edging with the other...or I may weave with them.

Oh the choices!

This is the sum total of spinning accomplished this holiday, plus the still unfinished lacy shawl and the competed cotton jumper and one woven scarf. Not bad considering everything else going on in my life!! I'm surprised by the cumulative total!!
