Angel

Moises, our window washer calls these ‘angels’. They are the marks left by birds that fly into our windows. We don’t have curtains or shades so all we can do to try and discourage them is clear stickers that have colors only the birds can see, or tinsel strips hanging from the eaves. Neither method has worked very well.

This bird survived. It sat stunned for a few minutes and flew off when we opened the door. We think it was either a hawk or its prey that hit the window because the walkway beneath it was littered with little feathers but no other clue as to what happened.

The weather is beautiful…the tee shirt sort, and the birds are feeling frisky we watched one pair wheel and chase each other around the sky. We put up a bluebird nesting box in hopes that our little bluebird will transfer her affections from our windows to a mate!
Henrietta may have moved on since the tons have arrived and are strutting their stuff on the empty lot next door.

We’re expecting Matt any minute, here on a flying visit before going off on Tuesday morning to play golf at Pebble Beach. It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it.
