Just finished reading …
… another superb book by Elif Shafak. I’ve read several of hers and they never disappoint. This is a three century quasi-magical blockbuster reflection on human nature, our connectedness to each other and the world we live in, the importance of culture and history, and the nature of genocide and the horrors of being a woman in a war zone or living under an abusive regime. Actually none of that does it justice. You need to read it and be prepared for an ending that mingles hope and horror in equal measure.
Today was wonderfully restful. Much needed.
