Tulips

I love tulips but so do the deer. Our solution is to put them in pots and cover with chicken wire till the blooms appear. The deer like juicy buds only apparently. The recent sunny warm weather has brought these blooms out.

I’ve had a very unproductive day. My knee is painful. All the codeine is doing is making me sleepy. However I did finish my Rotterdam book and have ordered one for Chloe as well. They are hoping to visit us in June. I also read “Somebody I used to Know” by Wendy Mitchell who wrote about her personal experience of dementia. It’s not really depressing, more straightforward and brave which I like. I tried “Think” again but I really can’t get on with all the terminology. It’s hard to remember it all therefore I’m not getting to grips with the ideas at all.

Bathroom Chris came to drain the radiators and put the bathroom one back on. Now he’s on holiday but will come back on Friday to put in the shower. He says my colour ideas are “interesting”!!! That’s what people say when they don’t like something but don’t want to be rude.

Our van is showing a light indicating something is wrong with the engine. It goes for MOT this week so I hope it can be fixed. The car has an oil leak so hopefully the garage can locate and fix the problem tomorrow. I’d normally walk the 4 mile round to Katy for book group tomorrow but can’t go that distance at the moment so must beg a lift.
