Along The Seine

Another lovely day slowly drifting down a French river!  This time we are sailing on the Seine en route to Rouen.  Lots and lots of beautiful apple trees in full bloom (busily preparing for this year's Calvados production, no doubt!), lovely half timbered houses, fat, happy cows grazing on the new grass, chateaux, and pretty villages like the one in the picture above.

We had a wonderful picnic of delicious cheeses, cornichons, and bread which we bought at a shop in Guernsey the other day, and enjoyed it on our balcony as we watched the countryside glide by. 

Tomorrow we will leave the ship for an overnight ... an exciting event awaits!
