Old clipping

Class this morning which was a new layout. Yet another glorious day.

Went a walk afterwards and then in the afternoon went down to the library to check out something that was in the local Paper (the Perthshire Advertiser) regarding my grandpa and bowling.

It was 4:15 by this time and I went upstairs in the library which has all the Stuff you could ever want for family history or researching ‘the old days’.

I asked the guy at the desk if I could see this newspaper and he said they close at four but will get it out and if anyone asks you got it before 4. Very kind of him.

Of course I didn’t just look at the article from July 1939. I looked through many, not sure how many were in this bound version but it was so interesting. There were people I recognised from growing up in Blackford as there were many pictures of events. I took a picture of this one. A day out for the Sunday school of the two churches (only one now the other is a home) getting on the train at the station which was just a short walk from the primary school. Then getting off and having a he eat day out at Cloan. The Haldanes were one of these rich people that seemed to be involved in many things in these days.

I need to go back again and do some more research, particularly from down Longforgan way. (The great grandfather who was the headmaster of longforgan school).
