Gaslighting An Entire Planet?

On This Day In History
1919: British and Ghurka troops massacre hundreds of unarmed protestors in Amritsar Massacre

Quote Of The Day
"Once you are entitled to have regard neither to the intentions nor to the conduct of a particular gathering, and to shoot and to go on shooting, with all the horrors that were here involved, in order to teach somebody else a lesson, you are embarking on terrorism, to which there is no end."
(Edwin Montagu, Secretary of State for India, 1920)

Bonus Quote Of The Day
"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."
(George Orwell, 1984 )

For some time now I have been fascinated by the Mandela Effect phenomenon. At first it was quirky little things which had a fun sort of chuckle factor; Berenstein Bears or Berenstain Bears, monocle or no monocle on the Monopoly guy, Flinstones or Flintstones, braces or no braces on Jaws' girlfriend, cornucopia or no cornucopia on the Fruit of the Loom logo?

However, the number of new Mandela Effects seems to be increasing rapidly and today I learned of two in particular which should give everyone some serious concern. Along with Forrest Gump's, "Life is like a box of chocolates," now being, "Life was like a box of chocolates," we now see that Japan has changed its shape and South America has drifted eastwards! To confirm this, I went to a shop to check out some globes. No way was South America that far east of North America. My Japanese wife (who is always very sceptical of the conspiracy theories I share with her) agrees that Japan never used to be that shape.

What the hell is going on? How can reality be altered so quickly, so completely and so easily? Are we living inside a computer simulation which can be reprogrammed in seconds? Or (and this is the explanation that I find more plausible) is consciousness a result of quantum processes rather than synaptic processes and are elements from other multiverses seeping into our universe? Perhaps C.E.R.N. and quantum A.I. computers are breaking down the boundaries which used to keep the multiverses separate.

Mandela Effect 2.0: Reality Is Gitching Faster Than Ever

Clubbed To Death

UPDATE
Upon further reflection, I don’t think, “Life was like a box of chocolates,” is actually a Mandela Effect. Forrest Gump quite likely did say that originally. Consider, the entire quote is, “My Mama always used to say life was like a box of chocolates.” Reported speech in the past tense. When people quote it they usually don’t quote the, “My Mama always used to say …..” precursor, without which, “Life was like a box of chocolates,” sounds strange. Case closed on this one, I think.
