Beauty or Beast?

Ferraria divaricata, a bulbous South African plant that grows in deep sands in the south western Cape, a species from a genus which all have rather weird flowers.   It's definitely a curiosity, the flowers, each lasting little more than one day, are produced in sequence from a branching stem.   This flower is no more than two inches across and this plant is eight inches tall.

A quiet day spent mostly at home after a lovely walk in the sunshine with C and the Megs.  C has been here on an off for almost two weeks but our comings and goings plus my work, have kept us apart until today.  Hopefully a few more walks while they are still here.

At home I have done a few odd jobs indoors and out, including some serious sorting of things in the garden.  It does look a but better but there's a lot more needs doing.   Before tea I spent an hour glazing at pottery and this evening have continued my mission to bring a little odrer to life's chaos!
