If it's not one thing it's another

For once I managed a proper long lie-in. I definitely needed it. I was therefore extremely lazy most of the morning, and then set about investigating Fidra's recalcitrant windscreen. It seemed to be nothing more than a total lack of lubrication on the sliders, and it happily went up and down once I had greased them well.

After lunch I was going to take a trip to the motorcycle accessory shop to try on boots and jeans, then thought I'd check their website first. To my dismay almost everything in 'long' wasn't in stock. But I decided to go anyway, in order to go to Mum and Dad's afterwards.

I was all set but Fidra had other ideas. Her idle adjustment screw was, er, missing, and that's a problem. Le sigh. So in disgrace again into the garage she went in, and I rolled out on la moto ancienne once more. To think, it has been over on its side at least three times, it's been bashed and bent and straightened out, it's been messed about with and mended and modified, and is still going, a bit like Elspeth Beard's BMW.

I tried on some boots at the shop but didn't make any spur of the moment decisions, but my old SIDIs are very nearly worn out these days.

Dad cooked a big pie for tea, and I tried to help with some computer maintenance before riding home in the dark. I'm afraid my yet-another-dashboard photo is the only one I took today.
