Well Earned Rest

A pair of purple martins (largest swallow) have returned for the summer breeding season after wintering in South America, probably Brazil.

These are possibly early scouts, looking for the best house to set up home in. Usually older males return to where they nested before. Soon the rest of the colony will arrive.

Today was still cold and they will have a hard time finding insects to eat. But the weekend looks warmer, so hope they will be ok.
