Holding Patterns
If ever I'm really stuck for an image, as was very much the case today, I occasionally ask my brother to act as my hand model - previous iterations have included him holding a ceramic lizard and a Victoria sponge that I'd just baked!
The expression 'holding pattern' has more than one meaning including a route followed by a plane above an airport while it waits to land but another definition, which I think suited my state of mind when searching for an idea for today's blip, is being temporarily unable to act because you are waiting for something to happen or be decided.
This time my brother is holding a china bowl that he bought on our last visit to Rye. It's a lovely bowl but I still thought my image needed some more elements and then decided I actually just liked the patterns of the bowl itself along with the tissue paper it was wrapped in and the scarf my brother was wearing when I took this shot.
