Sunshine continues

Now into a routine of watering the pots first thing each morning. This little phlox is just appearing . I do like the way that, before they open, the flowers resemble rolled up umbrellas:)
Observations in the garden - the birds are coming to the feeders much less often now. I expect they’re finding almost enough grubs and insects., and just coming here for a top up, and sometimes a splash in the pond. I haven’t seen the woodpecker for days - I do hope she is hoovering up creatures on the trees behind the house. Maybe there will be little woodies?  Though I’ve only seen a male once in my garden, he must be around somewhere. 
I’m watching for bees visiting the blossom on the apple tree, now fully out. I was listening to a programme about pollinators recently.  Gardens in cities and suburbia are now their haven, as farmland is so full of pesticides. But I haven’t yet seen a reassuring presence on the blossom yet.  Maybe one or two only at any one time… Worrying.
