Recorder Group

Who knew a group of recorders could sound so .. musical? Well, under the leadership of L they can, and indeed won a competition recently in Worcester performing under the name RecAge!
My final visit of the week and definitely the hardest working group, 2 hrs pretty non stop of practice and performance. My impression is how good playing an instrument is for brain training. One lady played piano all her life , took the clarinet up in retirement and now at 87 is learning the recorder.
I invigilated this morning and then this evening we had the Friends of the Abbey annual lecture by Sir Nicholas Coleridge . Jolly good value and a wicked impression of the King!
