Botanics

It was such a beautiful day I decided to go across to the Botanics - good decision, it turned out. With almost every breath I inhaled a different scent. People were walking around with their mouths open in wonderment rather than looking at their devices. Difficult to decide on a blip - but went with this one in the end as it could have been a blip-meet! Folk very absorbed in taking photos, some of them lying prone on the grass.

Extras:
1)The cedar that was damaged by storm Eowyn; not sure how they're going to proceed with it.
2) A stunning Pyrus (pear) tree.
3) One for any applied mathematicians or engineers - how can trees do this?
4) Edinburgh skyline - Calton Hill and Salisbury Crags.Ooh look, the Nelson memorial is swathed in scaffolding - however will mariners in Leith docks be able to tell that it's 1 pm if they don't happen to hear the one o'clock gun?
