Coate Water Park (Friday 11th April 2025)
I've been meaning to revisit Coate Water Park for awhile, but it wasn't until I returned from there today that I discovered it has been a year since my last visit. The day seemed warm. I walked around the Lake anti-clockwise but arrived at the café at its busiest time, so skipped lunch. I didn't see any great crested grebes, egrets or herons and I missed their black swan, who has passed on, but I did see swans building nests, orange tip butterflies, bumble bees and a couple of cormorants. I called in at Wootton Bassett's Aldi for a ploughman's sandwich on the way home.
Looks better in Large.

Galactic and Irma Thomas - How Glad I Am (2025)
I knew this song by Nancy Wilson, a big hit for her in 1964, so I was pleased to hear this new version from the forthcoming album Audience With The Queen, played on this week's Blues Show (R2). Irma Thomas is known as the Soul Queen of New Orleans (although born in Ponchatoula LA).
