Stuffed Bear

We have been gone all day to a family reunion on Lisa's side. Her "up north" cousins...her farm cousins.

It is always a nice day. Good people, good food, good fun. The kids are everywhere. Riding 4-wheeled ATV'S, riding bikes, and riding horses. Oh...to be young again.

I took a walk out past the forest, past the gravel pit, past the farm equipment graveyard, and wound up at the cornfield.

Explain to me why I like old farm stuff. I've always been a city boy, but I took picture after picture of abandoned machinery. John Deere, New Holland, International Harvester. You name it...it's probably sitting here.

I put 15 or so more pictures on my FLICKR PAGE. Cousin Billy's log cabin, the machinery, the sand pit, and some horses. Such a lovely spot in the north woods.

As with a lot of things in life...happiness has to somehow blend with sadness. Cousin Billy's wife has brain cancer. We had high hopes last year as she appeared to be greatly improved...but this year...not good. Early fifties...2 teenaged kids...dwindling strength...bed-ridden. Again...not good.

My apologies to those who don't like "stuffed" animals. While I could never shoot anything myself...except with a camera...there are those around these parts who like to hunt.

11:44 p.m. Night-night.
