Chocolate-Headed Gull

Mish and I took some stuff down to the village for recycling and while we were out popped to Fishers Green for the first time in a while. I was pleased to see that the great crested grebes have made another nest on the other side of the Old River Lea after their previous efforts were washed away. One of them was sitting.

There was a great commotion from squabbling and nesting gulls by the Wildlife Discovery Centre. I walked along the river to the bend by the pylon. Some sort of construction, which I wasn't pleased to see, is taking place. I stood and watched a few black-headed gulls flying low over the water snatching insects.
