Flightplan
Our intended target for the day was Bolingbroke Castle.
Unfortunately, it turns out that there had clearly been a number of years since the castle had last stood in any matter resembling a castle. Admittedly, whilst a very nice footprint of where the castle had once stood remained (extra) it wasn’t enough to keep us occupied.
Eventually we were able to find some semblance of signal in the land that network connectivity had forgotten and discovered that Lincolnshire Aviation Centre was nearby. With Cabin Pressure fresh in our ears we spent a very nice couple of hours walking round, doing an easter egg hunt and drawing parallels with our favourite radio show.
I’d brought the big camera along, in which the youngest is showing an interest (extra), so I gave her some basic pointers (you’ve all seen the limitations of my photography) and she happily snapped away every square inch of the site.
We had a disappointing lunch on site and then headed back up the way for a hot chocolate and a wander around Louth town centre, which was quite nice, but yet another location where charity shops have arrived and conquered the high street.
We were all flagging a bit by this point, so headed back to our home for the week and an elongated dip in the swimming pool before an evening of board games and relaxation.
