Bee-fly in Flight

A cloudy morning here and a bit chilly, so I carried on with weeding my borders our the back, all done now. The garden is desperately in need of rain though, it was rock hard despite using the hose on the borders twice. I also went to the plant nursery, but the tomato plants weren't back in, nor the peat free compost, but I did get some cut flowers, a new orchid and some more bedding plants. The sun came out this afternoon, so I sat out listening to my audiobook. I had thought this morning that I'd go to my Thursday@3 concert, but I soon realised that after a lot of gardening yesterday, there's no way I could have sat on a very uncomfortable pew for an hour! I'm really enjoying this audiobook - All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker, definitely a book that you lose yourself in. Whilst looking for a photo for Blip, I noticed a bee-fly repeatedly hovering above the bird feeder next to a tree, so had another go at capturing it in flight.
