Eda and the Parrot!

The plan today, after a slow start, was to get out some Easter decorations. First the girls wanted a treasure hunt, Eda drew a map and Grace filled two tin eggs for them to find with things for them to make over breakfast.
Then Eda wanted to start her Lego parrot which she got as a Christmas present from Uncle Alex. Jude of course wanted her Lego Unicorn, which had been part dismantled making into Seahorse, so a job for Granny!
I didn't mind but it was hard finding all the pieces!

Then it was time to go out, Eda didn’t want to go but of course when we got there she loved it.
The plan was to get the cars washed in Batheaston, the next village and visit one of our favourite cafes, Gather, for coffee.

It seemed to have been left in charge of a young lad with not a lot of English. He agreed to do ours, outside only and for Grace to come back later. I left Chris with it and we went into the lovely walled ‘secret’
garden by the river with the girls. They have both been to forest school here in the past. Eda immediately found a Lego character. A lady came to tell us she had just put them out as a fun trail for children to find and hide again. We found all three and duly re hid them. Then the girls had another picnic lunch.

Chris joined us and we went to Gather for our coffee whilst the girls had hot chocolate. Jude has a new hat and thought Boppa ( Chris) should wear it, see extras.

Home again we went back to the Lego whilst Grace prepared delicious Tacos * for our lunch outside and Chris finished the grass cutting. The blip was taken when Eda brought out her completed Parrot to show us. She did it all herself and is rightly very pleased.
Chris had rearranged Grace’s car wash for tomorrow morning but when I inspected ours he hadn’t done the windscreen or the roof! We only wanted it washing as we’d been overtaken by a cattle wagon on the way down and been sprayed by you know what! I don’t think Chris will be taking Grace’s there in the morning!
A beautiful afternoon now to just sit outside, nice not to have to be getting ready to go anywhere this evening (the other half of Eda’s group rehearse tonight and perform Friday and Saturday.)
We really enjoyed the show last night and Eda obviously really enjoyed being part of it too, putting lots into her performance. So lucky to see it.
We’ve still not done the Easter decorations!!

*Grace’s neighbours have gone to Tenerife, J is vegetarian and apparently gets a weekly food box which she had
forgotten to cancel so Grace and John were given it. Last night we had Roasted Courgette and Tomato Tagliatelle, and the Tacos were Honey and Halloumi with a Tomato and Avocado salsa. Every little thing is provided and they have been delicious but I can’t imagine what they cost!
