The Pensioner

By Pensioner

Happy day

Yes indeed! I managed to get the wee one doggy paddling (with armbands) in the big pool. Back and forward she went across, I dunno, the 5m wide area. I was well impressed with her and she was very proud of her little self.
Then off to Asda for a quality lunch in their cafe before heading home where the SK took over - and they did lovely flowery things out in the sunshine (extra).
But we’d to drop her off and head to the bus - uptown for a discussion chaired by one Dr Eric Stoddart, a divine at St Andrews: Alzheimer’s: To Test or Not to Test.
Researchers are working hard on developing disease diagnostic methods years before symptoms begin. But for currently incurable diseases, like Alzheimer’s, would you want to know? Join a group of St Andrew’s University experts for an ethical discussion on the emotional and societal implications.
Hugely interesting - Terry Quinn, Professor in Cardiovascular Ageing at Glasgow University in particular, was just terrific. What a clever and good fellow. I’m no longer William Boyd. I’m Terry Quinn.
Unfortunately Terry then went to the Diggery Dogs and quaffed beer and yapped about football and music and tariffs and turned into the old Pensioner again! Amazing.
