Sage
The oven cleaning continues. I will not leave it so long next time... Other than that on a sunny, warm, breezy day several loads of washing were done and the tomatoes had a tidy up. Some plum tomatoes (earlier than the others as the plant they were on died) will become sauce tomorrow. And I hacked back the weeds to get at the sage collection - left to right we have variegated, pineapple and normal. The pineapple sage is romping away so well that I may even make some pineapple jelly with it tomorrow.
Sage is the French word for good behaviour - ie if your children are 'sage' it means they are not naughty. They were certainly full of sagacity today - but then since they just lay around watching Star Wars and playing there was no call for mischief.
Mr B, meanwhile, seems to have cooked most of a cow in our friends' house in London. I think he will be ready for some light pasta and fresh tomato sauce dinners when he gets home. Perhaps followed by some pineapple sage sorbet?
