Showing off
Nice day today. Some playing in the morning, looking for repertoar and there was washing, which is always good to do on a windy, sunny day. There was also this visitor, who spent quite a long time showing off on this rock where he could be seen and heard by potential lady pheasants. I was lucky to get a short video of him making his call-sound a short sound like a rooster, while stretching his body upwards, followed by a quick flapping of his wings that seems to be a part of the call. No hens present today though, he will be back.
My walk through The Grove gave me a lot of anemones, all three are simultaneous just now, the blue, white and yellow ones. Paired with the birdsong and the warmth of the sun, sheltered from the still chilly wind made it a wonderful moment. Extra
