Tiny Tuesday: Mini doughnuts

These are the mini doughnuts that I bought last night to bring to the office. Now that Ramadan is over, we can celebrate a few things (like my birthday!) Some movement occurred in the box during transport. ;)

So, the day began with G taking the car for her 4get-me-not outing, which meant I had to get a taxi to work. I had a reluctant driver when he found out where I wanted to go. Exhibitions have started again, and the area is busy. I managed to convince him to take me and drop me off where I wanted rather than where he wanted - which was at the DWTC Metro Station. That would have meant a 10-15 minute walk for me. Not a problem, but I'd rather not do that with a heavy rucksack, two boxes of doughnuts and in 30+ degree C heat.

The doughnuts went down well. My colleague Nermin brought some Egyptian cookies, so we had a happy mid-morning coffee break. I got treated to lunch later by the head of the department. He invited three of the team leaders as well. It was unexpected and gracious, especially as we got to experience Tahini, a Levantine restaurant in the adjacent building. I'd seen it during my walks around the area, so it was good to eat their food. I have to say, the place was heaving when we arrived, and we had to wait to be seated. My chicken shawarma was delicious, though very expensive at nearly £12!

G picked me up and I enjoyed a quiet evening at GCHQ. :))
