Sister
This is my step-sister Suzanna, who I don't get to see often enough. (I have a step-brother too!) Suzanna got in touch today to say she was going to be in our neighbourhood and would love to visit. She arrived just after I finished the workday, and we chatted away in the flat and then went to Caesar's, an old haunt, for a sizzler. It brought back lots of memories for her. Best of all, we talked a lot about my Dad and what an excellent and positive influence he had on our lives. Fantastic! It was so good to hear her say that, as I know her brother and her struggled with his discipline when they were teenagers.
As Suzanna drove us, we were without wheels to swing by Krispy Kreme to get twenty free mini-doughnuts when purchasing twenty! I want to take something in to work to mark my birthday. Suzanna not only drove us to the branch in Karama, but she also drove to the next one in a shopping mall and waited for me while I went to fetch the goodies. To my amazement, not only did the lady at the first branch call through to make sure there were forty doughnuts in the mall branch, but the gentleman there had them all packed and ready for me! It's not often you get service like that in Dubai. I am thoroughly impressed.
Last night, or should I say early this morning, around 12:30 a.m., someone rang the doorbell. I was fast asleep but heard it. I decided to ignore it, but it rang again, which I also decided to ignore. Then the person started knocking quite loudly. Argh. I got out of bed only to find out that the Noon delivery man was in the wrong building!!! It took me ages to get back to sleep, resulting in me struggling through the day.
