Walking on the moors

Back blip - Friday 

My brother, Mike and sister-in-law Barbara met us at the hotel mid-morning and we set off for a walk towards Hound tor. We skirted Haytor and followed the old tram line for a short way. Down the valley and across Becka brook, then a steep walk up again. We stopped for lunch at the deserted medieval settlement before turning back. It was about 4 hours round trip and we all had a well-earned cup of tea at hotel on our return. 

In the evening we met up with an old school friend of mine and her husband, for dinner at the Two mile Oak.
