Chaffinch
I was out this morning with the local bird group on a visit to Ideford Common. The sun was shining and we spotted two woodpeckers and various other small birds on a nearby bird feeder while waiting for everyone to arrive. Although the sun was out there was a chill in the wind as we slowly walked around the area. I saw my first swallow fly by. We were hoping to see crossbills as they had been seen by others before but despite our patience none were seen. The number of birds seen was fairly low but we did also see a yellowhammer, linnets, and a dartford warbler. I didn't manage to take photos of many birds as they were so difficult to see and very far away but it was a lovely time walking around and watching the local wildlife.
Back home I baked the sourdough loaves, had a quick trip to a local post office and the supermarket. I then decided to go to a Zumba class that the instructor runs in the evening today as I hadn't managed to get into tomorrows class at the gym. So a busy day.
