Pear Blossom

Smashing to have a whole day outside.  I was tired after yesterday's epic afternoon but I had also been bitten by something in the drying ground around my ankles and my knee was creaky after much standing so I was awake in the middle of the night itching and aching.  My solution when this happens is to move to another room and find an audiobook to listen to on BBC Sounds.  I began with 'Dracula' and when Tony woke me with my breakfast (thank you Tony, it was my turn!) my phone was still playing, but it had moved on to a story about a caravan park 'The Last Resort'.  Last week I listened to the plot of one Sherlock Holmes story and awoke to the reveal of a different one!

Anyway I ate a leisurely breakfast (thank you Tony!), put a washing load in, did a few irritating correspondence tasks which had sat on the coffee table for too long (still have to write those postcards), then I took out the lawnmower and spent an hour or so prior to lunch taking down the grass outside ours and neighbours' houses.  I also filled up the bird feeder in the drying ground and placed stones around the circles which were sown with wildflower seed yesterday so hopefully folks will avoid stepping on them.

In the afternoon I stayed outside and did some weeding then took a cuppa up to the allotment for Tony and sat on the steps watching the many flying bugs on the pear blossom which is the first to bloom up there.  There are a few notes of cherry and peach blossom but they have a way to go yet.

It was time to cook Sunday Roast Dinner.  Yes I know it's Monday but we were too tired yesterday to do the full roast thing so we had veggie fingers, chippy potatoes and beans!
