Anne’s Garden
Anne was a gardener who tended local wild patches and planted them with bright flowers. She created this garden from wasteland. It’s a popular spot to this day, with a couple of benches. Last year Anne died and there is a plaque bearing her name. The garden looks a bit shaggy now, though still delightful.
I worked in the town surgery and once again got a doctor’s room. The sun shone outside, but never in. I have rediscovered some of the joys of my job (the pleasure of matching the client with the right service or community group, or arranging a home visit) but I still get tired in the late afternoon. Don’t we all?
Left at 5.40. There was a CoVid vax clinic going on, and it was difficult to get through the crowds. Who remembers social distancing? I do! Then I remembered that I’d left the heating on in the room. Back I went, to find that the cleaners had turned it off. Good for them! Long story short, I missed the bus and walked home, after I’d been to the other surgery to leave my bag. Good thing is I’ve walked nearly 9,000 steps. I don’t quite see how this is possible, as I got a lift to work, but never mind….
Back home, I’ve made some granola and Steve has done some of the jigsaw. I have some eye ointment from the pharmacy, but my eye is not normal yet.
