Tarn

17yo and I headed up to Ilkley for our Sunday outing, which included a modest walk up to the Tarn and White Wells. We continued along the edge of the moor, past the reservoir and then back down into town via Heber’s Ghyll.

We saw a few butterflies en route: Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell on the moor, and my first Large White’s of the year along Grove Road.

This view is of the smaller tarn, just below White Wells. I’ve blipped it before (e.g., 2011, 2023), but it’s a nice spot.
