What I've Done

Cousin Janet

One of the sad things about ageing, is that your family pass away around you - particularly as I was the youngest of all my cousins. Having driven about 800 miles on our holiday, about 100 miles back from Manchester, today I drove another 300 miles to Hertfordshire to my cousins funeral. It was truly a lovely ceremony, as her son had put together an AV of photos through the years, from family visits to Orlando, through to trips to Australia and New Zealand.

Sadly Janet was diagnosed with advanced Cancer a few months ago, which was untreatable, she passed away on the 2nd March.

My overriding memory of my cousin was in the 1970s when she turned up at my family home in her brand new Ford Capri. She also had some amazing jobs, from being Barbara Cartlands Private Secretary, (and travelling around in her Rolls Royce) to a Production assistant on London Weekend Television.

RIP Janet
