Education bat

Lovely morning for a run. We did a route in reverse and covered just under 10k. Pottered around before lunch.  Filled the bird feeders and watered some of the transplanted plants and seeds.
Cycled up to campus for a session on bat care and rehabilitation run by the local bat rescue team. Very interesting session and I learned a lot.  Not much can be done unless you have had a course of rabies vaccinations which your GP may agree to or you'll have to pay for yourself. Collecting injured bats and delivering them to carers is allowed without the vaccine so I may volunteer to be a bat ambulance.
At the end of the session we got to meet Binky, a serotine bat, and a rescued pipistrelle who was scoffing meal worms and needs to put on weight before he can be released. Binky was very vocal and had a good set of sharp teeth.
Very interesting session and well attended by a fun group of bat fans.
Made masala baked beans from  ww recipe. Had to substitute borlotti beans for the cannelini beans but it still tasted good on top of baked sweet potatoes.
