Urban jewel
Gym first thing for dance fitness (lots of winding and bum jiggling) and then more sedate pilates.
S had made scones, soup and a roasted veg pasta sauce while I was out. The house smelled lovely when I got back.
Walked into town to go and look at a bed we'd seen online. This beautiful iridescent rose chafer was trundling along the path near the canal.
We had failed to pinpoint our furniture store and realised as we went to one retail park that the shop we wanted was on a different one by the stadium. We opted for shopping for a few bits and coffee before deciding to look in one of the others. Having now narrowed down our requirements it was easier to find some options that fitted the bill. Costs add up though and the final sum for both our preferred options was eye watering. The salesman was a bit pushy but reasonably informative. We came away with some price breakdowns and boggled brains.
Stopped off at The Fisherman's Cottage for a drink in the way home and a bit of a debrief on how much we want to spend and what are the things we most prefer. It was warm enough for the first drink outside but we retreated inside for the second. Nearly all the tables were reserved for a 50th birthday party and we watched as large purple numbers were inflated with balloon pumps.
Home for a quiet night in.
