Egg number 1

I thought I spotted an egg this morning, but it was far clearer this afternoon after the female had been back and revealed it more clearly to the camera.

According to 'A Blue Tit Diary', and other research I've been doing, Bluey should lay 1 egg a day, for potentially the next couple of weeks!  It's an exhausting time as each egg is a tenth of her body weight, and blue tits only breed once a year, so a huge investment.

I'm aching and exhausted from working in the garden all weekend, but at least I can recover by going to work!
