Missing a Merry Widow
The north wind hasn’t given up the fight yet but the sun is out ,the sky is blue and if I tuck myself into the furthest corner of the patio I feel warm, even hot. We have had so little rain recently that I felt obliged to water the garden tubs. At the risk of being called out as pessimistic, I would say that we will pay for this pleasant interlude of weather.
We were down to two Merry Widows this morning- number 3 is recovering from this week’s hip replacement operation but is home and recovering well. I arrived ahead of time and had the chance to blip an empty Söderberg before the arrival of the masses. The reflection of the pizza oven fire in the door at the far end was the reason for choosing this photo. On such an insignificant criterium does one make a decision.
I’m afraid there was no bun for me this morning after yesterday’s horror viewing in the M&S changing room but now, even after a light lunch of a banana roll, I can’t rid myself of a desire for a drink of cold cider. There is a bottle lurking in the fridge. I have no resistance at all………..
