Special Friends -- Bob & Cherie
We've had an amazingly full 36+ hours here. I uploaded my 200th blip yesterday about mid-day. Then we headed to 4 -- that's right 4 -- medical appointments for me at Kaiser Medical Center in Riverside, all in the Ophthalmology Department. So I didn't get to deposit my red balloon with comments in very many places (but I did do a few). That's okay, sometimes that happens.
This morning we had an early breakfast appointment to meet dear friends (they are on the right side in the photo above) who used to live here and were visiting now from Texas. Words can't express just how much we enjoy their company. Their daughter is getting married the first weekend in December so we'll be flying to Texas for that special occasion. After breakfast, Mr. Fun, Bob & Cherie all headed to Pomona to see the NHRA Museum (National Hot Rod Museum). Because I had things to do, I opted not to go, but Mr. Fun took my camera so I couldn't blip then. You should see the collection of photos that Mr. Fun brought home from there.
Then at 5:30 the two of us were due in Newport Beach for a wedding on a big yacht. The daughter of some church friends was getting married tonight. They had chartered a "wedding" boat. So we witnessed a wedding, watched the sun set over the Newport channel while the boat cruised throughout the waterways, ate a delicious meal (even though we are both dieting), watched the cutting of the cake, and the wild and fun dancing that happened once the DJ was set free to lead the entertainment. The boat docked at 10:30, after 5 hours of casual sailing. Then we made the drive home.
I think I am earning the prize position of last place on the Blip screen for Friday, June 24. That's okay because sometimes the day is longer than the clock is round.
Thank YOU to EVERYONE who commented on my 200th blip celebration. I savor your words of encouragement more than I can ever express.
It's slightly after midnight, so now technically Saturday, here in Southern California. We're headed to bed. I hope to get back to commenting soon. We hope you have a lovely weekend.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. The Ophthalmologist had my vision checked, my optic nerve measured, my peripheral vision tested, and checked me for glacoma. After 4 appts to accomplishment all these things, he pronounced me okay for another 6 months. Whew!
Edit at 6:00 a.m. Saturday -- I would love to show a photo from the wedding; it was such a beautiful moment, especially on the boat (wow) with the water background; however, these two friends are so rare and treasured--we don't get to see them enough, so I couldn't pass up an opportunity to share them with you. It was a spectacular day.
