Out in the sunshine

A day of catching up with domestic stuff, along with scanning the news analyses of Trump and the tariffs etc. I know that a lot of anti-Trump protests were planned for today and hope that they prove to be big ones.
Back at home, I cut the grass in the back garden - such a satisfying task. I've left margins of long grass and dandelions in some places, though I'll pick off the dandelion heads before they set seed.
With blossom everywhere, bees and hoverflies were out in large numbers.  I puzzled over a particularly novel-sounding buzz for a while, looking for the insect responsible, and then realised that someone was flying a drone overhead. We live opposite a park; someone may have been flying the drone from there. Alternatively, it may have been a police drone; there was an incident locally the other night,  involving gunshots.  The police went to the house involved  and an XL bully dog ran out of it; so there's been a big police response to the whole thing. It seems that no humans have been hurt, though the police did fire at the dog, which still escaped (possibly injured). There's been much speculation and heated discussion about all this on the neighbourhood Facebook group... and so far I don't think the dog has been found (the police think someone may be hiding it).
This is not typical for our usually quiet neighbourhood, fortunately :-)
