The home straight

Doc didn't have to get up as early as last year, since Mel kindly offered to give him a lift out to South Queensferry and the Burryman was being dressed a little later. Old Bat managed to capture him just as he emerged at the start of his walk.

I spent the morning working furiously in order to get various things finished before my wee break; then D and I got the bus out to SQ and eventually found Old Bat, Doc and the Burryman in that order. A good time was had by all, with the possible exception of the Burryman, who by the time I took this photo of him must have been on his feet without lowering his arms for about ten hours. He would also have been hungry, thirsty and quite badly scratched. Still, this was him stomping back along the High St - only the Anchor and the Ferry Tap to visit before he was disrobed in the Staghead.
