BEAUTIFUL

It's Flower Friday and here's a shot of my Thanksgiving Cactus (Schlumbergera truncata) still blooming, unexplainedly, even though Thanksgiving was last November.  There's nothing blooming outside yet...still too cold...so this will have to do.

I have Blipped this plant before.  I inherited it from my mother who got it from her mother.  I remember this plant in a giant pot in grandma's sun porch...practically took over the whole room.  My mum took a cutting and grew one for herself.  I did the same from mum's plant about 50 years ago.  It got unusually large and difficult to confine so I made more cuttings and started it all over again about 3 years ago.

This plant comes from stock that's at least 100 years old and it's still going strong.  I take very good care of my plants.  I have to...my wife has a real black thumb.

BEST IN LARGE.
