Eye to Eye

La Maya, the Pointy One …

… in the photo stands out above the Rhône Valley looking across from Anzère (towards the Grand Cornier, I think) where we skied in very slushy conditions today.

When I returned Preston wanted to go into the garden and, being a soft touch, I was happy to take him. However he somehow jumped over a small hedge (only about 50cm in height and landed behind the solar panels, eventually crawling out and climbing on top of the panels and jumping back into the garden again. He is now covered in old bits of hedge cuttings! He was very cross with me as I carried him indoors afterwards, carrying him in my jacket to prevent him from scratching me! He has no idea that he only has three legs and that an adventure for him could be life threatening! “He’ll be the death of me,” comes to mind every time he has one of his adventures. What to do? Let him run free and be happy but in danger, or, keep him restricted to going outside on the balcony? It is so difficult to make a decision. Now he sleeps soundly (extra) in his favourite box, oblivious to the worries he gives us! You can see some of the twigs stuck in his fur!

Have a good weekend everyone.
