Brush Creek Bridge

We took Spike on this walk today. I always marvel at how wild it looks in places, even though we are walking on a paved path through a fairly settled area. Just below this are the Flat Rocks which I've posted enough of them. The creek is flowing, the ground is covered with blue vinca and yellow buttercups. Taller orange crocosmia and white alliums stand above them. The canopy is made up of a number of different kinds of trees which all coexist and fill the upper story landscape. The weather was beautiful today...a little warmer and sunny. Spike made friends with a gardener planting something next to the fence behind the warehouses. They've been working on the drainage back there for months and have finally gotten to the planting stage.

I had just enough time to get organized before leaving for my final (one year) knee appointment with the orthopedist. I'd had to reschedule once because I had Covid. I've always liked this place because they don't send you a million 'reminders' or ask for your insurance information every single time you go in. It might had been a good idea if they had in this case, because I  got there at the right time but my appointment was two days ago. So it has been rescheduled yet again for the end of the month, and I spent an hour in the car for nothing.

I stopped by the UPS store on the way home and bought a mailing envelope for my finished quilt project. John took it back and mailed it on his way to the grocery store.

There's not much I can say about the incredible hot mess that has been made of the global economy in the name of making America great again. Idiotic and incomprehensible tariffs have been levied against almost every country on earth, including a 50% one against a tiny African country and that 'nobody has ever heard of' as well as against our allies and trading partners. My only hope is that this 'plan' will prove to be so ill considered and so damaging to an economy that was pretty healthy in January, that the people who voted for him will finally realize that they didn't vote for this.

It also looks like Musk, will be packing up his cheese hat and his checkbook and leaving government, having suffered a defeat in Wisconsin of his chosen candidate for state supreme Court. The people of Wisconsin have wised up enough to say that you can't buy an election.
But who knows? All we can do is put our heads down and hope there will still be a midterm election and that everybody who is entitled to vote will be able to.
